Temple University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) protects the rights and welfare of people who participate in research activities at Temple. The IRB is an independent committee of doctors, researchers, statisticians, community advocates and others. Their job is to carefully review and approve all research projects at Temple to make sure that the risks of a trial are as low as possible. The goal is to protect the rights, dignity and welfare of research participants and ensure that all federal, institutional and ethical guidelines are being followed.
